Q&A: Best ergonomic support for lower back pain?

Question by AK: Best ergonomic support for lower back pain?
I have to sit at a desk for several hours a day, and the chair doesn’t support my lower back at all. The pain is severe now. I have scoliosis in my upper back and have had lower back problems off and on for years.

I’d like to find a good ergonomic cushion so I can take it everywhere with me. There are so many to choose from. I’d like one that gives maximum support to the lower back. Any suggestions?

Buy a few and try them all out, or keep one in the car, one at work, etc. Each back is different. They can really help a lot, and are a good idea, but don’t forget to exercise. (I don’t like memory foam much, but some people love it – give me plain old foam rubber!)

Q&A: Can any writers out there help me pen a special Thank You card?

Question by Annette B: Can any writers out there help me pen a special Thank You card?
I am a nurse who brought legal action against a major tri-state area hospital/medical center for wrongful discharge. The attorney who worked on my case is a man I have the greatest respect for. We’ve been friends and have known each other for 20 yrs. Initially, he was reluctant to even take on my case (he’s actually a criminal defense attorney) so & I really had to try hard to convince him that I just “knew I was right about this”. He finally agreed (probably just to shut me up! LOL!) This case was complicated and it was a lot of hard work– it took 6 long years but it was finally settled by jury trial earlier this month. The verdict was in our favor! WE WON BIG!!! It was financially worthwhile for the both of us. Of course, I’m very thankful & grateful for David’s help. I’ve gotten him a gift, but I’m struggling with how to write the card.

I want to try to describe to him that sometimes in life, I think, a person can get an overwhelming sense that something that may have happened to them somehow “feels very wrong”, and if it feels wrong, it proabably is wrong. And if it is, the “wrong” needs to be “righted” … And, how I could never have gotten there without his skill & experience, eloquence, etc…

I just don’t want my message to have a feeling of “Ha, Ha, I told you I was right and you shouldn’t have doubted me about taking the case…” This needs to be a very heartfelt note filled with gratitude with a “sometimes you just know when you’re right” theme (when somebody does you wrong).

THANKS A BUNCH!!

yes i have played football since the second grade and im only 10 but still i would reccomend that u try to keep working with the same weights just time urself for like 10 minds – 45 if u lift weights over 45 mind per day it will hurt ur back but i think u should get a bench press it would make u stronger and ur back would hurt less.

preteen girls and puberty?

Question by : preteen girls and puberty?
read this then try to make sense of what i ask: The findings suggest earlier development than what was reported in a 1997 study and show a worrying pattern, say the study’s authors, led by Dr. Frank Biro of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Girls who hit puberty earlier are more likely to engage in risky behavior, Biro’s team notes, and might be at a higher risk for breast cancer, than their peers who develop later.

okay while the following is true, girls who hit puberty at younger ages are more likely to get breast cancer.

What about this, are they really more likely to engage in risky behavior? I mean doesn’t THAT depend on the child’s parents? The way a child is brought up, will normally be reflected in the way they act.

girls who mature physically earlier seem to think they mature mentally earlier and think they can start having sex at a younger age

Intense lower back pain with contractions?

Question by jadestar217: Intense lower back pain with contractions?
I’m 28 weeks pregnant and this is my 3rd pregnancy. I’ve noticed every time I get braxton hicks contractions my lower back(as well as right under my belly) is killing me. I’ve never experienced back pain with contractions in my previous pregnancys. And this has been going on for about 5 days now. Is this normal?

Best answer:

Answer by Due Feb. 09
Well no pregnancy is the same. But it could possibly be from you tensing up too much and causing your back to hurt. My back hurts a ton after I tense up after anything but I also have a bad back. I would talk to your doctor about it though to make sure its ok and not real contractions.

khyoung69 is right they could also be spasm’s. I got those a lot when I was younger and tensing up for something like a braxton hicks contraction can def. cause them.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or spastic colon is a functional bowel disorder characterized by abdominal pain and changes in bowel habits which are more… not associated with any abnormalities seen on routine clinical testing. It is fairly common and makes up 20–50% of visits to gastroenterologists. Lower abdominal pain, and bloating associated with alteration of bowel habits and abdominal discomfort relieved with defecation are the most frequent symptoms. IBS is highly prevalent in the Western world, but despite the advancement of many theories, no clear cause has yet been established. Stress—feeling mentally or emotionally tense, troubled, angry, or overwhelmed—may trigger symptoms in people with IBS. One study found that women with IBS are more likely to report prior physical or sexual abuse; almost half of the patients reported prior abuse. IBS is not fatal nor is it linked to the development of other serious bowel diseases. However, due to the chronic pain, discomfort, and other symptoms, work absenteeism, social phobias, and other negative quality-of-life effects can be common in more serious cases. Individuals who find a caring primary caregiver and/or sufficient self-help options should be able to develop a successful treatment program for their symptoms and lead normal lives. www.nutritionbynatalie.com http www.youtube.com

Have an x-ray done to see if the metal parts are still in place. Sometimes screws come lose or even break, they will have to be removed then.
